Budget

I figure that this summer I have about $500 that I can spend at the most for this garden railroad.  With that, I need to buy track, ballast, mulch, a few plants, prehapes garden lights, and other small items.  One thing I think I need is a budget, so here it is:


  • Track: $200
So far, here is my shopping list as of  February 13th:
  1. 2, 2' straight sections= $20
  2. 2, 4' straight sections= $40
  3. 6, 2' radius curves sections= $30
  4. 50 to a package, rail clamps= $90
  5. 10 to a package, rail clamps= $20
total= $200, prices were rounded up to the nearest dollar.
  • Ballast, and mulch:  $100
Ballast, 1 bag is 2.50 X 12 bags= $30
Mulch, 1 bag is 3.50 X 12 bags= $42
  • Garden lights: $10
spare lights, 3 needed= about $10
  • Other items: $45
Total: $355

At $355, I am $145 under the limit so that I will have minimal problems being over budget.
